Plotera is now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad
iPhone gardeners, it is official: Plotera is on the App Store. Apple has approved the app and you can download it free for iPhone and iPad today.
What you get
- A proper app on your home screen that opens full screen, with no browser bars.
- Notifications on your iPhone for watering, feeding, harvest time and frost, heat and wind alerts.
- The full 3D garden, Growth Simulator, seedling trays, Yield Log and Soil Centre.
- The same account everywhere. Sign in and your gardens are already there, synced with Plotera on the web and on Android.
- Free, like the rest of Plotera.
A few hiccups along the way
It took a little over a month from our first submission to approval. Apple's first review came back with two changes to make, and both made Plotera better:
- Try it before you sign up. Apple asked that people can look around before creating an account. So we built a full demo garden you can explore without signing up: raised beds, paths, crops growing and harvests logged. It is now on the web and Android too - read more about it.
- No mention of paid features. Plotera is free, and we removed a preview of future paid features that did not belong in the app yet.
After that it was a matter of waiting for the second review. Thank you to everyone who used Plotera in Safari while you waited.
Already using Plotera in Safari?
Install the app and sign in with the same account; everything carries over. You can then remove the home screen shortcut if you added one.
Get Plotera on the App Store. On Android? Get it on Google Play.
